Justice - Zotharus
Zotharus(zaw-tha-ROOSE) is a celestial deity of righteousness. His followers are warriors and knights, found in the company of kings and nobles.
Zotharus is among the first gods who ascended.
A celestine of Zotharus will have shimmering blue skin and golden eyes.
Zotharus teaches his followers strength, martial prowess, and vigilance. His followers learn to stand together in service of kings and causes as long as they ar just. They value unity and loyalty above all, often creating tight knit family like units.
A people who worship justice will have a large and strong military. They will seek to forge alliances and expand their kingdoms and countries. They view themselves as protectors of the innocent, and keepers of good.
The most important mission of followers of justice is to rid infernal and abyssal presences from the lands they watch over.
The symbol of Justice is most often a depiction of a knight. Knights have always been instruments of justice, and represent the values of strength, power, and vigilance.
Zotharus ascended in 1752 during the first ascension. After M’deius, the god of vengeance ascended, destroying his own civilization of D’vrein. Zotharus and Riletchwued were from neighbouring civilizations, and in the early days of godhood, the two gods imprisoned M’deius into a physical manifestation, trapped in the ruins of D’vrien.
As rightious as he is, the god of justice has little value to offer his followers outside of power. His followers often struggle with morality, or dive into their faith, hiding behind the words of their holy books and priests.
Idle time is not good for followers of Justice, which is why they gravitate heavily to causes and kings. Those who occupy important positions in the church often seek to give their followers missions.
Justice’s relationshio to evil, although antagonistic, is also in some way symbiotic. Justice needs an evil to give it purpose.

Izarod provides a subtle and specific philosophy on the nature of ruling. The intention of the philosphy is to have worshippers of the god king serve as advisors to rulers to keep them in check. Power is not meant to serve the one who wields it rather it is a means to serve. Followers of Izarod see justice as an easily corruptable force that lacks direction.
